Costa Rica Trees
The number of tree species in Costa Rica is approximately 1900, with the national tree being the Guanacaste (Enterolobium cyclocarpum). All the trees and plants are important in helping to reduce the CO2 in the atmosphere. Trees, along with other plants, help to support the non-photosynthetic life that inhabit its cover.
As you can imagine, the amazing diversity of Costa Rican trees is hard to classify. However, here the trees are grouped by some eye-catching characteristics, and some descriptions of tree species are given for each group.
